Our Impact: Key Projects and Initiatives

Since our re-establishment in 1994, Pärnu Rotary Club has been a proactive force in the community. We have a long-standing tradition of supporting local social development, cultural initiatives, and responding to international crises through numerous projects across various fields.

Youth and Education

Education and youth development are at the core of our mission. A cornerstone of our club is the Pärnu Rotary Youth Fund (Noortefond), established to support talented and motivated youth in the Pärnu region.

Scholarships: Since 2004, we have awarded approximately more then 100,000 EUR in scholarships for young teachers, talented athletes, and students in the arts and sciences to help them reach their full potential.

Youth Exchange: Since 2004, we have actively participated in Rotary International’s youth exchange programs, fostering global citizenship and supporting students studying abroad.

Mentorship: Our members provide guidance and inspiration to help shape the next generation of leaders.

School Equipment: In long-term cooperation with Finnish Rotary clubs (such as RC Heinola Pohjoinen), we have provided school furniture to several regional schools, including Vändra, Kihnu, Tõstamaa, and Kilingi-Nõmme.

Community and Public Space

We take pride in enriching the urban environment and recreational opportunities in Pärnu:

Cultural Landmarks: We commissioned and funded significant sculptures, including the monument to legendary captain Kihnu Jõnn (2011) at the Pärnu Yacht Club and the statue of composer Raimond Valgre (2003) near the Kuursaal.

Sports & Recreation: We have built and renovated several public facilities, including basketball courts at Munamäe and the Beach Park (near Villa Ammende). We also established an outdoor gym and rest house at the Reiu-Raeküla health trail.

Rotary Park & Playgrounds: We initiated the creation of the Pärnu Rotary Park and have installed various attractions for local children’s playgrounds.

Social Welfare, Health and International Aid

We stand with Rotary International in global efforts to promote peace and support those in need.

Support for Ukraine: In response to the humanitarian crisis, our club and partners have raised over 12,000 EUR to provide medical first aid kits, specialized burn care kits, and co-finance ambulances.

Social Welfare: In our early years, we facilitated major donations to the Tammiste and Tammsaare care homes in cooperation with Dutch and Swedish Rotary clubs.

Children’s Welfare: We have supported the Pärnu Children’s Village (Lasteküla) and provided computers and equipment for various support centers and schools for children with special needs.

Health & Lifestyle: We have supported the purchase of specialized equipment, such as a snow cannon for the Jõulumäe Health Sports Center, to promote active and healthy lifestyles in the region.
